In 2016, as a part of EaP GREEN Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) program funded by the EU, RECP Technology Pocket Guide was prepared and published in national languages of the six EaP countries for specialists working in construction materials sector and roads construction materials production.

The Belarusian Investment Forum was held in Minsk on September 28-29, 2017. The event was organized by the National Agency for Investments and Privatization, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus. To promote wide distribution and use of RECP technology pocket guides in EaP countries two on-line seminars are organized for specialists working in the enterprises as well as organizations of these branches in the EU Eastern Partnership countries. On April 5, 2017, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus held an international research-to-practice conference "Green Economy" in Belarus: problems and ways of development" under the framework of the project "Techn ical Assistance to Support the Development of a Green Economy in Belarus", funded by the European Union.
The final National Conference "Towards a "green" economy through Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production" will be held February 7, 2017.
The event is organized by the Centre of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production in the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the Demonstration component of the regional programme "Greening the economy in the European Union's Eastern Partnership countries» (EaP GREEN).
Representatives of government ministries and departments, enterprises participating in the programme, international UNIDO experts, national experts on Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production, and representatives of non-governmental associations will attend the event.
The National Action Plan for the development of green economy in Belarus until 2020 was approved December 21, 2016.
Resolution of the Council of Ministers №1061, December 21, 2016, approved the National Action Plan for the development of “green” economy in Belarus until 2020. The strategic objective of the plan is to improve the quality of life based on the growing competitiveness of economy, attraction of investments and innovation development.
"Taking into account national specificities and global challenges the state defines the "green" economy as a strategic priority. The result of the implementation of the plan is a gradual transformation of the national economy based on the implementation of the principles of "green" economy and achieving the goals of sustainable development and harmonization of economic, environmental and social interests," the resolution states.
A joint UNIDO/UNEP seminar on responsible production was held in the framework of the European Union Programme "Greening the economy of the Eastern Partnership countries". The main focus was put on the European practice in chemicals’ management in various industries, including directly in the production of chemical products.

The main purpose of the forum is to disseminate information about the demonstration program Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production in Belarus, creation of favorable conditions for the involvement of a greater number of industrial enterprises in the program RECP, establishing close cooperation between industry, the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Environment and public authorities.

Initial training seminar for the second round of candidates to national RECP experts’ position was carried out in the School of Business and Management of Technology on 18-20 August, 2015. The training was provided by Dr. Johannes Fresner from Environmental Consultancy and Research Company Stenum GmbH in Graz, Austria. Dr. Fresner has been working to optimize process engineering and increase energy efficiency of industrial processes since 1992. Dr. Fresner has worked as a CP trainer, consultant and supervisor for UNIDO during the creation of Cleaner Production Centers in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Macedonia, Ukraine, Russia, South Africa, China, South Korea, Cuba, Brazil and Nicaragua.

A working meeting with the representatives of Molodechno enterprises took place on the 4th of August. The meeting, supported by Molodechno region executive committee, was devoted to introducing the RECP programme, its concept, aims, methodology and the results achieved during the first year of the programme implementation in Belarus.

A regional awareness raising seminar of UNIDO Demonstration Programme on resource efficient and cleaner production was held in the Minsk City Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection on 12 December 2014. Besides the representatives of the Programme’s national coordinating group and its experts, the meeting was attended by the local authorities and the representatives of the city’s enterprises, including those already participating in the Programme.
