Resource efficient and cleaner production in Belarus was discussed in detail at the international conference on green economy on April 5, 2017 in Minsk

On April 5, 2017, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus held an international research-to-practice conference "Green Economy" in Belarus: problems and ways of development" under the framework of the project "Techn ical Assistance to Support the Development of a Green Economy in Belarus", funded by the European Union.

The conference covered the formation of methodological approaches to the transition of the Republic of Belarus to the model of sustainable development, promotion of advanced scientific achievements in the priority areas of the green economy, which are defined by the National Plan for the Development of the Green Economy in the Republic of Belarus until 2020.
The methodology of resource-efficient and cleaner production as a component of the ‘greening’ of enterprises' economy was presented by Siarhey Darozhka, national coordinator of the Demonstration Programme in the Republic of Belarus, implemented as a component of the European Union's EapGREEN program in the Eastern Partnership countries.
A demonstration exhibition was held before the event, where the participants have had the opportunity to learn more about publications and video materials devoted to the topic of resource efficiency and cleaner production. Thus, the National RECP Primer, the Resource Efficiency Guide in the Diary Industry, as well as the Resource efficiency guide for the construction materials sector were directly available to the all visitors.
Representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Natural Resources and other government bodies, leading domestic and foreign scientists and practitioners, representatives of higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus and other countries, and business representatives, attended the conference.
